Mr. John William Johnson “Buck” age 39 of 452 Harding Street departed this life on August 7, 2012 in Jarrett, Va. He was the son of Dianne Johnson and John Furby. John attended Petersburg Public Schools and worked as a carpenter. John was preceded in death by his grandparents; Eliza and Margaret Johnson: his uncles; Clarence and Willie Furman: a brother; Randy Johnson and his niece; Chandra Johnson.

He is survived by his parents and his sisters; Kim Washington (Alonzo), Lagrange, GA: Latisha Johnson, Tina Johnson, Chaketa Johnson, Sade Johnson and Joyce Ann Jones all of Petersburg: other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held 2:30 pm Friday, August 17, 2012 from the chapel of William N. Bland and Son Funeral Home, Petersburg. The Reverend Will Phelps will eulogize and interment will be held in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg. A wake will be held 7 – 8 pm Thursday, August 16, 2012 in the chapel of William N. Bland and Son Funeral Home, Petersburg. The family will assemble at 1:30 at 452 Harding Street, Petersburg. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to William N. Bland and Son Funeral Home.
