Elnora Miles Giles (Cake), 77, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 6, 2012 at the Hopewell Health Care Center, Hopewell.

A native of Sussex County, she was born to the late William Henry and Beulah Brown Miles and raised by the late Rachel and Gus Jones.

Elnora joined St. John Baptist Church at an early age.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene C. Giles, Sr.; two sisters, Mildred Skipper and Rosa Wyche; four brothers, Leroy and William Barksdale and John and Gus Jones, Jr.

Elnora was a devoted mother and friend to all who knew her.

She leaves to cherish her memory two devoted sons, Eugene Giles, Jr. (Kina) of Chesterfield and Preston Giles of New Jersey; daughter-in-law, Cassandra Giles of Petersburg; a stepdaughter, Isaphine Howard of New Jersey; three sisters, Bessie Edwards of Stony Creek, Rachel Dillard (Kelvin) of Carson and Jackie Baker of Maryland; one brother, Marvin Jones of Maryland; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Butcher of Stony Creek; one brother-in-law, Wesley Giles (Doris) of Petersburg; three grandchildren, Tyree Eugene Giles of Chester, Jakea Giles of Southill and Kayla-Ann Giles of Cheterfield; a host of nieces, nephews and friends; among them devoted, John Jones and William Dennis; many devoted caretakers, Sandra Giles, Shelia Jones, Kim Vaughan and the wonderful staff of Hopewell Healthcare.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at the chapel of William N. Bland & Son Funeral Home, Petersburg. Interment will follow in the Little Mount Baptist Church Cemetery, Prince George.
