Mr. William Fisher, Sr., 89, of 1426 Talley Ave., Petersburg, departed this life on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Fisher was born on November 6, 1922, to the late Dunn and Adelle Robertson. He was a veteran of the United States Army, and retired as a Machine Operator for Brown & Williamson.

Mr. Fisher was a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church, Sutherland. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Winbush Fisher; brothers, Bernard, Johnny and Pete Fisher.

Surviving are: son, William Fisher, Jr.(Phyllis) of Petersburg daughter, Carolyn F. Branch (Ernest)of Oklahoma City, OK; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Bernice W. Myrick(Garland), Elsie Clark and Mattie Fisher all of Petersburg; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 4, 2012 at the chapel of William N. Bland & Son Funeral Home, Petersburg; with Rev. John Winbush officiating. Interment will follow in the Dinwiddie Memorial Park, Dinwiddie.
